Ranchnet is Dave’s home network. It supports him, his wife Jessica, and the YouTube whims of their many cats.

ABOUT DAVE

Dave is a little bit of a polymath, with obsessions for cars and computers. And cats. But we won’t talk about the cats.

He’s got a lot of toys which he can’t afford, and he’s very bad at putting away when he’s done playing.

COMPUTERS

The home network is made up of a mix of stuff – Windows, Windows Server, Linux, Mac, and some other goodies. Dave is a big proponent of open-source software. So we won’t talk much about the Windows Server.

CARS

At present, Dave has a 1973 Volvo 1800ES that is sorely neglected, a 2001 Mazda Miata LS waiting for attention, a 1978 Jeep J10 that needs serious help, and an inexplicably well-maintained (but ugly) 2008 Ford Focus. Three of the four have manual crank windows, three have fuel injection, one has working air conditioning, and all four have new clutches.

CATS

Again, we won’t talk about the cats. They’re right here. Listening. Watching.
